Privacy Policy
Unfrill helps you track calories while keeping your information close. This policy explains what the app uses, when it may connect to outside services, and the choices you control.
Effective August 27, 2026
The short version
Unfrill is designed to work without an account. Your food and nutrition information is primarily stored on your iPhone, and access to sensitive features such as the camera and HealthKit is controlled by you through iOS permissions.
Information you provide
You can enter foods, portions, nutrition details, goals, and related calorie-tracking information in Unfrill. This information is primarily stored on your device. Unfrill does not require you to create a login or account.
Because this information is stored locally, removing the app or erasing its data may remove information that has not been backed up through an Apple service you control.
Camera access
Unfrill may request access to your iPhone camera for features you choose to use, including barcode scanning and photo-related flows. Camera access is optional, requires your permission, and can be changed at any time in iOS Settings.
HealthKit
With your permission, Unfrill may read from or write to Apple HealthKit to support health and nutrition features. You choose whether to grant access and which Health data types are available. You can review or revoke that access in iOS Settings or the Health app.
Food and nutrition lookups
To return food, barcode, or nutrition results, Unfrill may send the information needed for your request, such as a barcode or search query, to external data services. These may include USDA FoodData Central, Open Food Facts, or a production service that securely relays requests to a nutrition provider. Those services may process technical information normally included with an internet request, such as an IP address, under their own privacy practices.
Your choices
You can use the core app without an account, decline camera or HealthKit access, change permissions later in iOS Settings, and delete locally stored app information by using available in-app controls or removing the app and its data from your device.
Children’s privacy
Unfrill is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Unfrill changes. The effective date at the top of this page will show when the policy was last revised.
